Mission & Goals

EU Legislative Interests

VERACITY is a private company developing a voluntary coalition to enhance water resilience and access to safe water through the creation of Water Impact Certificates (WIC), a new mechanism for mobilizing voluntary climate and sustainability finance in the water sector. Our activities are aligned with, and intended to contribute to, the following EU policy areas and initiatives: - EU Water Resilience Initiative (2024); - European Green Deal and Zero Pollution Action Plan; - EU Strategy on Climate Adaptation; - EU Sustainable Finance Framework and Taxonomy Regulation; - Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS E3 – Water and Marine Resources). The purpose of our interactions with EU institutions is to share technical input and explore possible alignment between the voluntary WIC framework and the above EU strategies, in particular regarding the integration of measurable water-related impact indicators within sustainable-finance instruments. In this context, a forthcoming meeting with a member of the European Commission Cabinet will address the topic: “How catalyzing climate finance for water-resilience projects and scaling WaterTech solutions in line with the EU Water Resilience Initiative.” We have been requested to complete our registration in advance of the call for this purpose.
