Mission & Goals

Founded in June 1, 1942, Vale is a Brazilian mining company that produces iron ore and iron ore solutions committed to becoming one of the safest and most reliable mining companies in the world. Vale employs approximately 120,000 people (direct and third party employees) and the company is present in around 20 countries. In addition to mining, Vale takes care of our production chain, investing in logistics and energy to ensure that our operations are efficient. Considering our goals and ambitions, Vale would like to position itself as a strategic partner to the decarbonization of the European steel industry understanding that industrial competitiveness and the climate agenda are positively connected and reinforce each other. Thus, we aim to strenghten our relations with European entities so as to contribute to key discussions and build strategic cooperation with European companies and institutions.

Communication Activities

Vale and its European partner, Green Energy Park, have a project that seeks to enable the construction of a green hydrogen unit to supply the future development of a Mega Hub - industrial complex focused on low carbon products production - in Brazil and is part of the “Brazil North-East Green Energy Parks and Green Shipping Corridors” initiative. This initiative has received the flagship project of the European Union's Global Gateway Program in the Climate and Energy category. Beyond that, Vale is increasing its engagements with European stakeholders and has joined meetings at the European Comission and Parliament.
