Mission & Goals
The Uyghur Youth Initiative is a grassroots, youth-led organisation that empowers Uyghur and allied youth through civic education, capacity-building, and advocacy. Our mission is to create spaces for Uyghur youth in the diaspora to engage with issues of human rights, transnational repression, and social justice—particularly as they relate to the ongoing persecution of Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in East Turkistan (Xinjiang). We provide platforms for young people to connect, learn, and organise, including through workshops, trainings, and international forums. Our goal is to strengthen the role of Uyghur youth in global advocacy and coalition-building, particularly within Europe, and to ensure their voices are heard in institutions of power such as the European Union.
