Mission & Goals
Established in 1963 with a founding ethos of interdisciplinarity, the University of East Anglia (UEA) comprises four Faculties (Science, Medicine & Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and Arts & Humanities). It has over 17,700 students of which more than 5,250 are postgraduate students. UEA's population of international students numbers more than 2,200. UEA is based on the Norwich Research Park (NRP), a world-leading centre for research into the environment and climate change, health and plant science, food and health, and international development. UEA consistently ranks in the Top 25 universities in the UK. It is also ranked among the top 251-300 universities globally, under the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026. Six researchers at UEA are named in the latest Clarivate Web of Science Group 'Highly Cited Researchers' list for 2025, which recognises the most influential researchers in the world, ranking in the top 1% by citations in their specific fields.
