UCD is one of Europe's leading research-intensive universities; an environment where undergraduate education, masters and PhD training, research, innovation and community engagement form a dynamic spectrum of activity. UCD plays a central role in Ireland’s dynamic economy, culture, and society, with a diverse community of over 38,000 students from more than 150 countries and a global alumni network exceeding 300,000. The UCD Strategy 2030 is our roadmap to break traditional boundaries in research, scholarship, and innovation. By fostering creative, interdisciplinary collaboration and forging strong partnerships, we aim to deliver transformative insights into the critical issues of our time. Our mission is to achieve breakthroughs that drive measurable impact at scale—addressing challenges such as advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and one health, and pivotal societal transformations such as energy decarbonisation.

WUN - The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) is a network of 23 of the leading research-intensive universities around the world to which UCD was admitted in January 2018. The four co-operative research themes of the network are Climate Change, Public Health, Understanding Cultures and Global Higher Education and Research. Forum on Education Abroad: UCD is a member of the Forum on Education Abroad since 2008 and hosted the organisations inaugural European conference in December 2011. The Forum on Education Abroad is the organisation tasked by the US government with responsibility for setting the standards of good practice for the field of Education Abroad. The organisation has 700+ US and International education institutional members. UnaEuropa - UCD became a member of the UnaEuropa European Universities Initiative in 2023.
