Mission & Goals
The Antwerp University Hospital (UZA) is the leading teaching and tertiary referral hospital of the Antwerp region and is the academic centre of the University of Antwerp. The Antwerp University Hospital (UZA) guarantees top quality healthcare and a wide range of specialized treatments. UZA contributes actively to improvement of health care through scientific research. It is a dynamic organization, with 32 clinical and paramedical departments, more than 2500 employees, over 600 bed hospitals and rapidly gaining recognition as a top-level academic Institute. Healthcare delivery, education and scientific research are interwoven major goals. It possesses the full infrastructure to facilitate clinical research efforts. UZA has a close collaboration with the University of Antwerp through the joined Clinical Research Center, which is the central accommodation for all translational and clinical research and offers support for the complete R&D process.
