Mission & Goals
UC’s mission is comprised of three main axes: education, research and knowledge transfer. Through creation, critical analysis, transmission and dissemination of culture, science and technology, and research, teaching and community service, UC contributes to:a) the economic and social development;b) the protection of the environment;c) the promotion of social justice and informed and responsible citizenship;d) the consolidation of knowledge-based sovereignty;e) the public understanding of humanities, arts, science and technology, promoting and organizing actions to support the dissemination of humanistic, artistic, scientific and technological culture;f) the development of dissemination and knowledge transfer activities to society, as well as economic valorisation of scientific knowledge;g) the promotion of the mobility of professors, researchers, students and graduates in the European higher education area and the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries.https://www.uc.pt/planeamento
