Mission & Goals
UEG, or United European Gastroenterology, is a professional non-profit organisation combining all the leading European societies concerned with digestive disease. As Europe’s home for multidisciplinary gastroenterology, we unite over 50,000 engaged professionals from national and specialist societies, individual digestive health experts and related scientists from all fields. Our mission is to act as the united and trusted voice of European gastroenterology and to be recognised as the leading authority for digestive health. We promote science, research, education and excellent quality of care and we aim to reduce health inequalities across Europe. Our vision is to reduce the burden of digestive diseases and improve digestive health.
EU Legislative Interests
- EU Health policy, food policy - EU Research policy - UEG raises awareness on improved cancer care and the implementation of cancer screening programmes across the EU. - UEG supports food reformulation efforts and promotion of diets based on scientific evidence. - UEG is committed to helping reduce alcohol related harm. - We create the understanding for prevention and treatment of chronic digestive diseases.
