Mission & Goals
UNICollaboration is a cross-disciplinary professional organisation committed to promoting the development and integration of VE across ALL disciplines and interest areas in formal and non-formal educational settings, including Higher Education. A small group of interested academics launched this non-for-profit at the Second Conference on Telecollaboration in Higher Education at Trinity College, Dublin in April 2016. Our two main objectives are: 1. To promote the development and integration of research and practice in telecollaboration and virtual exchange. We aim to enable this across all disciplines and subject areas in higher education and in formal and non-formal educational contexts 2. To actively engage in awareness raising of telecollaboration and virtual exchange at institutional and policy making level.
EU Legislative Interests
We are interested in participating in promoting the educational activity of 'Virtual Exchange' in European & worldwide formal and non formal educational sectors, including Higher Education. We would therefore like to see Virtual Exchange mentioned in European educational policy documentation. To try and achieve this we publish position papers and make presentations in events where members of the European Commission may be in attendance.

Member Of
IVEC: https://iveconference.org/about-ivec/ IVEC builds on the successful track records of two other well-established events. The State University of New York (SUNY) COIL Center hosted their COIL Conference from 2007 – 2018, attracting a growing number of participants from around the world. UniCollaboration, the European telecollaboration consortium, hosted a bi-annual conference since 2014, bringing together practitioners from across the continent. As the field of Virtual Exchange grows, a small group of institutional representatives began talking about the possibility of a single, annual international conference that would become the premiere gathering for the field. The first such attempt was the Global Learning conference in 2017, hosted by DePaul University in Chicago, in partnership with the SUNY COIL Center. IVEC builds on the Chicago conference with an expanded group of organizing institutions and a new name and identity. We are also currently partnering with COIL Connect https://coilconnect.org/ for the purpose of mutual dissemination of activities

Additional Information
We would like to specify that we expect to receive €39,667 for the CVEinAI project mentioned above in autumn 2026, while the total budget for the 3 years of duration of the project for our organisation will be 99,170, yet we could not indicate it under the current financial year as we have not received it yet. The coordinating institution is the University of Padova. As outlined above, we expect to receive the second transaction in this financial year corresponding to another 40% of the total budget. Furthermore, we have not received yet the fourth instalment for the VIS project mentioned above, which is expected to arrive once the project is officially closed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, presumably in early spring. Nevertheless, we have reported the full budget which we expect for this project in the closed financial year. To conclude, we also expect to receive a flexible rate linked to the number of participants in the training, but we will only have an overall view of this flexible rate once the project is closed officially, and we are waiting for feedback from CINOP, the Dutch coordinator, to this end.
