Mission & Goals
The Ukrainian National Bar Association (UNBA) is a professional organisation that unites all licensed advocates of Ukraine (72 000 as of February 2026). UNBA acts under the Law of Ukraine "On the Bar and Practice of Law" since 2012 and serves as the institutional body of self-governance for the legal profession, ensuring independence, professionalism, and transparency within the Ukrainian Bar. UNBA’s key tasks include representing the Bar in relations with public authorities and international organisations, protecting professional rights and guarantees of advocates and maintaining the Unified Register of Advocates of Ukraine. UNBA has 53 specialised Committees. In 2015 Ukrainian National Bar Association established the Higher School of Advocacy, which is responsible for organising and implementing the process of CPD of advocates. The alignment of Ukrainian legislation with the EU acquis and European best practices remains a top priority for the UNBA.
