Mission & Goals
Transparency International UK is the UK chapter of Transparency International, which is a global movement sharing one vision: a world in which government, politics, business, civil society and the daily lives of people are free of corruption. We work with the UK and devolved governments, parliamentarians, civil society and business to tackle corruption at home, addressing the UK’s global corruption footprint and helping multinational companies prevent corruption by operating with integrity. We are also home to two major global programmes tackling corruption in the defence and security and global health sectors on behalf of the wider Transparency International movement. The global programmes work with national and multilateral institutions at the global and regional level to strengthen good governance, anti-corruption, transparency and accountability in the global health and defence and security sectors respectively.
EU Legislative Interests
Transparency International UK (TI-UK) mainly engages with EU legislative proposals and policies through one the two global programmes housed in TI-UK, the Defence & Security Programme. The programme is dedicated to combatting corruption and strengthening oversight, transparency and accountability in the defence and security sectors worldwide. As of 2025, the Defence & Security programme follows these EU legislative proposals and policies: EU-wide strategic framework to support security sector reform White Paper for European Defence – Readiness 2030 European Peace Facility (EPF) EU Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) EU Multiannual Financial Framework and the revision of EU Multiannual Financial Framework (2028-2034) Global Gateway EU-UK defence and security cooperation
