Mission & Goals

Thorn builds technology to defend children from online child sexual abuse. We have three focus areas: Ensuring industry remains engaged on this topic, equipping law enforcement with the tools they need to protect children, and educating children and caregivers through our youth and communities work.

EU Legislative Interests

Interim regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on a temporary derogation from certain provisions of Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards as the use of technologies by number-independent interpersonal communications service providers for the processing of personal and other data for the purpose of combatting child sexual abuse online. Including but not limited to the Child Sexual Abuse Regulation 2022/0155(COD).
