Mission & Goals
The Restart Project is a charity based in London, UK. The Restart Project was born in 2013 out of our frustration with the throwaway model of electronics, and the growing mountain of e-waste that is left behind. By bringing people together to share skills and collaboratively repair their products, we provide a hands-on way of making a difference, as well as a way to talk about the kind of products we want. We support community groups to hold events where volunteers help participants to repair their broken devices. We gather data from these events to measure our environmental impact by preventing e-waste and to collect evidence on barriers to repair. We use the data in support of our campaigning work on Right to Repair in the UK and in Europe, as part of the European Right to Repair campaign we co-founded and co-lead. We demand products are designed to be repairable, everyone has access to spare parts and repair information, and consumers are informed about product repairability
