Mission & Goals
The association aims to improve the European agri-food system with a focus on accelerating protein diversification. It does so by acting as a bridge between stakeholders and policymakers, and by depolarising the protein debate through a unifying narrative that benefits farmers, the economy, consumers, animals, and the planet. The association defines protein diversification in the food system as broadening the production and consumption of protein-rich foods, moving beyond the current heavy reliance on intensive livestock farming. Diversified protein sources include more sustainable or animal-friendly forms of livestock, as well as plant-based foods and other alternative protein sources.
