Mission & Goals
TNC is a leading global conservation organization working in over 75 countries with a vision to create a world where nature and people thrive. In Europe we work with governments, corporations and finance sector to drive globally relevant strategies in Europe and from Europe through programs, partnerships and policy advocacy for transformational conservation impact. We work collaboratively and across political aisles, geographic borders and sectors with multiple and diverse stakeholders and decision makers and are often seen as a trusted advisor and convenor in our work with governments, business leaders, individuals and institutions. TNCE's policy team, working across Brussels, Berlin and London works with EU policies in the fields of agriculture, biodiversity, climate, energy, forestry, trade and sustainable financing. We support the European Green Deal and one of our key aims is to partner with EU institutions and governments to help export leading Green Deal policies globally.
EU Legislative Interests
The Nature Conservancy Europe policy team is active in the following policy areas: European Green Deal implementation; REPowerEU and Renewable Energy Directive; EU Deforestation legislation and REDD+; Water Framework Directive; Relevant Agricultural Policy; (EU) Biodiversity Strategy; Nature Restoration Law; IUU Regulation; Common Fisheries Policy; Habitats Directive; Convention on Biological Diversity & Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework implementation; UNFCCC Paris Agreement implementation; Sustainable Financing (for climate and biodiversity).
