Mission & Goals
HiiL is a CSO founded in 2005. In the past years, HiiL has developed a unique data-, research- and innovation-driven approach for delivering on its mission to empower 150 million people to prevent and resolve their most pressing justice problems by 2030. This was achieved in partnership with the Dutch MFA and a number of other core funders. It also included work with knowledge partners like the OECD, the World Bank, UNHCR, and the World Justice Project. We aim to achieve our mission by promoting innovation in the justice sector, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and conducting research and advocacy to advance the cause of access to justice. HiiL focuses on three core areas: justice needs and satisfaction, evidence-based innovation, and scaling justice innovations. Its work includes developing tools to support legal processes, providing training and support to legal professionals, and conducting research on legal issues affecting marginalized communities.
