Mission & Goals
The Fair Food Standards Council (FFSC) is committed to fostering a sustainable agricultural sector that upholds the human rights of farmworkers, supports the long-term viability of growers, and meets the ethical sourcing standards of retail food companies. Established in 2011, FFSC serves as the independent monitoring and enforcement body for the Fair Food Program, an innovative, worker- and consumer-driven initiative recognized for its transformative impact on agricultural labor practices. The Program is founded upon three principal components: Human Rights Protections – A comprehensive Code of Conduct grounded in international human rights standards, applicable to all Participating Growers in nineteen U.S. states, with pilot programs in Chile and South Africa, and encompassing more than a dozen crops. Economic Justice – A wage increase made possible through a price premium paid by fifteen corporate purchasers of Fair Food Program products. Market-Based Accountability – A system of co

Member Of
The Fair Food Standards Council (FFSC) is not currently a member of any national, European, or international associations, federations, confederations, or networks relevant to the activities covered by this registration. FFSC may, however, collaborate with civil society organisations, academic institutions, and advocacy platforms in the context of promoting human rights in supply chains.
Organisation Members
FFSC has no members. However, in line with the principle of transparency, we wish to disclose a close strategic affiliation with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in the United States. CIW is a worker-led human rights organisation that developed and launched the Fair Food Program (FFP)—a Worker-driven Social Responsibility (WSR) initiative designed to protect the rights of agricultural workers through enforceable standards and binding agreements. The Fair Food Program is not a separate legal entity. FFSC serves as the independent implementation and enforcement body of the FFP, with responsibility for monitoring compliance, conducting audits, operating a 24/7 complaint mechanism, and enforcing market-based accountability mechanisms. While CIW and FFSC are legally and operationally independent entities, they work in close coordination. This registration covers the interest representation activities undertaken by FFSC in support of the WSR model and the Fair Food Program within the EU policy context. CIW is not part of this single registration and is not under FFSC’s legal or financial structure. This affiliation is disclosed in full transparency to clarify the nature of our collaboration on shared objectives related to human rights due diligence and corporate accountability.
