Mission & Goals
EAHP is an association of 37 national hospital pharmacy associations. Its mission is to represent and develop the hospital pharmacy profession within Europe to ensure the continuous improvement of care and outcomes for patients in the hospital setting. This is achieved through science, research, education, practice, as well as sharing best-practice and responsibility with other healthcare professionals In the interest of patients and public health, EAHP seeks to - to promote and further develop hospital pharmacy and to obtain and maintain general joint pharmaceutical principles and a joint pharmaceutical policy; - to foster research and education activities; - to promote co-operation with other organisations in the domain of public health; - to promote the position and function of hospital pharmacists; - to support and uphold the interests of hospital pharmacists Detailed information on the goals of EAHP can be found under
EU Legislative Interests
The main EU initiatives, policies and legislative files currently followed by EAHP include developments in: - Shortages (including Critical Medicines Alliance, Union list of critical Medicines, MSSG, etc.) -Procurement of Medicines and Medical Devices -Revision of the pharmaceutical legislation -Healthcare Workforce shortage and creation of a talent pool -Recognition of professional qualification and specialisations - Access to medicines -Health Technology Assessment -ATMPs -Orphan Medicinal Products -Europe's beating cancer plan - Clinical trial regulation - Medical devices regulation - EU initiatives in the area of health systems - tackling antimicrobial resistance, including the better use of antibiotics and an improved research environment for new antibiotics and promotion of a One health Approach - Digital health (including ePI, EDHS and AI Act) - Patient safety - The implementation of the Falsified Medicines Directive

-Joint communication campaign with EMA on shortages -Communication campaign and exchanges with ECDC on AMR -Amendments on pending legislative files. -Position papers on key policy topics. -Joint statements and activities with other stakeholder organisations on topics of common interest. -EAHP international annual congress of EAHP -Academy Seminar Programme -Synergy Masterclass -Access to open learning courses -Scientific publications on the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy (EJHP) -EU monitor (monthly newsletter) -Social Media Communication -Press releases -Participation in events of policy magazines (e.g. POLITICO) -Attendance of the meetings of the Interregional Group on Health and Wellbeing of the Committee of the Regions -Participation in events hosted by MEPs (e.g. on vaccination, shortages, rare diseases, etc.) -Collection of data through surveys and following analysis, draft and publication of the report and results (e.g. shortages, workforce, etc.) -Participation in policy events organised by other stakeholders organisations on topics of common interest. -Project aimed at creating a common training framework for the hospital pharmacy specialisation.
