Mission & Goals
• To support domestic election observation by ESN-SA member organisations. • Regional election observation (Southern Africa member states) • Building the capacity of network members to design and develop voter and civic curricula and internal capacity building. The Network provides opportunities for sharing lessons learnt, peer exchange, encourages exchange of best practices at the regional level and provides opportunities for members to participate in various workshops and conferences including workshops on election observation, electoral reforms, and gender equity in the democratic process.
EU Legislative Interests
The ESN-SA objectives align with the European Democracy Action Plan which is part of a broader effort to safeguard democratic values . The Action Plan's three main focus areas, namely Promoting free and fair elections, Strengthening media freedom and pluralism and Countering disinformation are focus areas covered by ESN-SA interventions.
