Mission & Goals
The Danish Bar and Law Society operates on a politically neutral basis to improve the rule of law for the benefit of citizens and enterprises and for a well-functioning society based on the rule of law. Two of our main duties are to supervise that all attorneys in Denmark adhere to the legal and ethical rules and obligations of the legal profession and to safeguard the independence and integrity of lawyers. It is mandatory for all active attorneys in Denmark to be members of the Danish Bar and Law Society.
EU Legislative Interests
Through the activities of the CCBE, the Danish Bar and Law Society targets a number of legislative proposals and policies influencing lawyers, the rule of law etc. In generel, we target aspects of EU legislative proposals with importance for Rule of Law, Access to Justice and independence of lawyers (the latter as a prerequisite for the former). The include, not exclusively, the Rule of Law-report, E-justice Scoreboard, the AML-package, the AI-Act, the sanctions-packages towards Russia and Belarus etc.
Communication Activities
The Danish Bar and Law Society regularly communicates about events, publications etc. that we have become aware of via e.g. the CCBE.

Alle advokater i Danmark er medlemmer af det Danske Advokatsamfund. Der er lave flere forskellige foreninger inden for denne gruppe, som ikke har noget organisatorisk ophæng til Advokatsamfundet. Men deres medlemmer er et udsnit af Advokatsamfundets medlemmer.
