Mission & Goals

Our vision is a world where individual wild animals are treated with respect and compassion. We strive to secure mutually beneficial coexistence between people and wildlife, enabling wild animals to live their lives free from harmful exploitation, and as part of functional, viable ecosystems. Our purpose is to keep wildlife in the wild. We aim to create a kinder, more compassionate world, where wild animals are no longer exploited, and people and wildlife live alongside each other in harmony and without conflict.

The Born Free Foundation is a member of: 1. The Species Survival Network (SSN) - an international coalition of over 80 NGOs committed to the promotion, enhancement and strict enforcement of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora www.ssn.org 2. Wildlife & Countryside Link (Link) - a unique coalition of UK-based charitable organisations concerned with the conservation and protection of wildlife and the countryside www.wcl.org.uk 3. Organisation Members

The Born Free Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation registered with the UK’s Charity Commission, registration number 1070906. Details of our registration can be found on the Charity Commission’s website at https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/charity-search/-/charity-details/3954054/charity-overview We do not have ‘members’ as such. We have a database of individual supporters many of whom provide charitable donations to the organisation, either in the form of one-off donations or regular contributions, or as legacies.

This cost is included in our policy expenditure detailed above. We continue to work with this consultant.
