Mission & Goals
The American Sunlight Project is increasing the cost of lies that undermine democracy. In an era of unprecedented information threats — from artificial intelligence to foreign interference to individuals sharing false or misleading information for power or profit — The American Sunlight Project is mobilizing to ensure that citizens have access to trustworthy sources to inform the choices they make in their daily lives.
EU Legislative Interests
On April 22, 2025, ASP CEO Nina Jankowicz will provide testimony on “Russia’s hybrid threats and attacks in Europe, including best practices to counter them." Ms. Jankowicz and ASP will encourage the EU to continue to pursue robust measures—including funding research, information literacy activity, and platform transparency and oversight regulation— to combat Russian disinformation in the European information space.
Communication Activities
ASP has published a number of research studies dealing with Russian disinformation campaigns and will explain them at the hearing. The testimony will be based on ASP's research regarding Russian use of inauthentic accounts, as well as its grooming of LLM models to regurgitate Russian propaganda (links to these reports available below).
