Mission & Goals
Terrafame keventää liikenteen hiilijalanjälkeä toimittamalla globaalille akkuteollisuudelle vastuullisesti tuotettuja akkukemikaaleja. Terrafamen teollisuusalueella sijaitsee yksi maailman suurimmista sähköajoneuvojen akuissa käytettävien akkukemikaalien tuotantolinjoista. Laitos pystyy tuottamaan nikkelisulfaattia noin miljoonan sähköautoon vuodessa. Terrafamen tuottaman nikkelisulfaatin hiilijalanjälki on yksi teollisuuden pienimmistä.
EU Legislative Interests
The RESourceEU Action Plan AND Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) Regulation (EU) 2024/1252 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 April 2024 establishing a framework for ensuring a secure and sustainable supply of critical raw materials and amending Regulations (EU) No 168/2013, (EU) 2018/858, (EU) 2018/1724 and (EU) 2019/1020.

Terrafame plays a key role in Europe’s battery value chain; We have the largest nickel deposit in Europe; we are only uranium producer in the EU and one of the world’s largest integrated production sites for EV battery chemicals ex-China. The company is also exploring opportunities to recover rare earth elements as part of its long‑term strategy to strengthen Europe’s access to critical minerals. Terrafame’s main shareholders are Finnish Mineral Group owned by the Finnish Government, and Trafigura.
