Mission & Goals
Terna is an independent Transmission System Operator and one of the key players in Europe in terms of kilometers of electricity lines managed. Terna manages the high voltage Italian transmission grid and guarantee its security, quality and affordability over time; it pursues the development of the electricity grid, ever-increasing operating efficiency and integration with the European grid. Terna developes solutions for the energy market, pursuing new business opportunities with the experience and technical expertise acquired in managing complex systems. Terna Group comprises the holding company, Terna S.p.A. and main operating subsidiaries: Terna Rete Italia, Terna Plus, Terna CrnaGora, Terna Energy Solutions, Avvenia, Tamini Trasformatori and Brugg Cables. Terna Group is a leading Italian company with around 6,000 employees who are tasked every day with ensuring the safety and the continuity of Italy's electricity system.
