Mission & Goals
The TDA Trejd company was established in 1991 as importer and distributor of tires for all kinds of vehicles. It is an official importer of 15 tire brands (Goodyear, Dunlop, Pirelli, Sava, etc). The main services the company offers are tire installation and balancing, fleet consulting, booking, storage on winter and summer tires in ideal conditions, on-field tire replacement, machine straightening wheels, etc. In 2024, it recorded revenues of EUR 9.5 million and a net profit of EUR 1 million, with an exceptionally low debt-to-equity ratio of 1%, indicating a debt-free position. The company is planning to establish a recycling facility for end-of-life tires in North Macedonia, filling a critical gap in both national and regional waste management (Kosovo, Albania, Serbia, Greece), supporting EU green agenda, national goals on waste reduction, pollution control, and resource recovery. It aligns with EU sustainability directives and enables integration into a circular economy.
EU Legislative Interests
Our organization’s interest in registering under the EU Transparency Register is solely linked to our application under the Call for expressions of interest from EU/EEA/Western Balkans-based businesses to invest in the Western Balkans (launched by DG NEAR and the Western Balkans Investment Framework). We are a tire distribution company based in North Macedonia, and our planned investment involves establishing a tire recycling facility that will serve North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania. As such, we are not actively engaged in any direct advocacy or influencing activity towards EU legislative proposals at this stage. However, the following EU policies and instruments are indirectly relevant to the nature and long-term compliance of our business model and investment initiative: - Directive 2008/98/EC on waste (Waste Framework Directive) – particularly as it relates to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes and waste tire management; - Regulation (EU) 2020/852 on the establishment of a framework to facilitate sustainable investment (EU Taxonomy Regulation) – relevant to our plans to align with circular economy and sustainable waste processing practices; - EU Green Deal and Circular Economy Action Plan (COM/2020/98 final) – as our investment contributes to sustainable materials management and regional environmental goals. SME Policy and Support Frameworks: - EU SME Strategy for a sustainable and digital Europe (COM/2020/103 final) – as our company falls under the SME category and we aim to benefit from green and digital transition support; - Single Market Programme (Regulation (EU) 2021/690) – which supports competitiveness and sustainability of SMEs, including access to markets and finance; - Recommendation 2003/361/EC concerning the definition of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises – as our business operates within this definition; - Access to Finance policies for SMEs (e.g. InvestEU, COSME legacy) – relevant to our future financing strategy in alignment with EU-supported instruments for SME innovation and investment; - Directive 2014/24/EU on public procurement – as we are exploring future opportunities to engage in public sector recycling contracts. We are open to future alignment with EU standards in environmental management and circular economy, but reiterate that our sole reason for registering at this time is to comply with the requirements of the above-mentioned Call for Expressions of Interest.
