Mission & Goals

Swedbank offers loans, payments and savings to simplify everyday life for individuals and companies. Swedbank's roots are firmly entrenched in Sweden's savings bank history, the cooperative agricultural bank tradition and Hansabank's major role in the Baltic countries. We serve everyone, from customers with basic needs to those who require advanced banking services. We work to develop close relationships with our seven million private customers and 600 000 corporate customers. Swedbank has four home markets; Sweden, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia. Our vision is based on our belief that we, together with our large customer base, can continue to drive and have large impact on our society. We envision a society that is sustainable, including environmental, social, financial and ethical aspects. We believe that a sustainable bank with sustainable customers will contribute to a long-term sustainable society. Our values are at the centre of our identity and the basis for our culture.

EU Legislative Interests

Digitalization and Payments: eg. CBDC, instant payments regulation, PSR/PSD3, open finance, data and privacy related initiatives, AI regulation. Prudential and crisis management: eg. Banking package, CMDI, macro prudential regulation, liquidity regulation. Sustainability: EU Taxonomy, Sustainable Finance package, eg. CSDDD, CSRD, EPBD, Green Bonds, Transition Planning, EPBD. The Sustainable Finance Omnibus proposals. AML and Security: AML package, DORA, Cybersecurity, Fraud. Other initiatives: Capital Markets, Savings and Investment Union, Retail Investment Strategy, Clearing package, Market Integration Package.

Communication Activities
