Organisation Members

Svensk Handel has over 8000 members. Approximately 7,800 of our members are sole traders and very small businesses that use their personal identity number instead of a separate company registration number. In Sweden, publicly listing these members together with a “registration number” would, in practice, entail the disclosure of personal identity numbers. Personnummers are subject to enhanced protection under Swedish law due to the significant risks associated with misuse, identity theft and intrusion into personal integrity, and Swedish data protection authorities recommend a highly restrictive approach to their publication. In line with the GDPR principles of data minimisation and necessity, we therefore refrain from publishing information that would directly or indirectly expose personal identity numbers.
