Mission & Goals
Iustitia is the largest association of judges in Poland, with nearly 3,600 members in 33 branches. Nearly 40% of Polish judges belong to it. Freedom, justice, and democracy are close to our hearts. The Association's statutory goals include representing the professional and social interests of the judicial community, upholding judges' authority and their rightful position in society. We provide judges with support and the right to defend themselves in disciplinary proceedings to be one of the guarantees of judicial independence. We are committed to educating citizens about the foundations of the rule of law and fundamental human rights. We conduct strategic litigation in the area of the rule of law and are active in the field of legislative activities as an entity that reviews draft legislation concerning the judiciary and fundamental citizen's rights. Iustitia is actively involved in the European Union of Judges (EAJ), the World Union of Judges (IAJ), and the MEDEL association.
EU Legislative Interests
making submissions in response to direct and specific requests from any of the EU institutions, their representatives or staff, for factual information, data and expertise in the topic of the rule of law, organisation of judiciary, independence of judges and fundamental rights (human rights) of citizens;
Communication Activities
Iustitia is a member of the European Association of Judges (EAJ), the International Association of Judges (IAJ) , and the European Judges and Prosecutors for Freedom and Democracy (MEDEL) . As part of the Eastern Alliance, we collaborate with judges from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Project promoting the fundamental rights of citizens and publication matierials for civic education "Hello!
