Mission & Goals

Society of Authors ZAiKS is a collective management organization that has conducted collective administration of authors’ rights since 1918. ZAiKS operates on the basis of the provisions of the Law on Associations, its Statutes and resolutions adopted by the Society’s governing bodies, the Collective Rights Management Act, the Law on Copyright and Related Rights, as well as the authorization granted by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. ZAiKS represents rights holders on the basis of agreements concluded with authors or their legal successors, and on the basis of reciprocal representation agreements concluded with foreign collective management organizations. The scope of statutory activity includes, in particular: - granting licences to users for the exploitation of works protected by copyright; - collecting remuneration due from users; - distributing and payiing out collected remuneration; - providing assistance to members in cases of financial hardship.
