Mission & Goals
STMicroelectronics was created in 1987 by the merger of two long-established semiconductor companies, SGS Microelettronica of Italy and Thomson Semiconducteurs of France, and has been publicly traded since 1994; its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: STM), on Euronext Paris, and on Borsa Italiana. The group has approximately 50,000 employees, 14 main manufacturing sites, advanced research and development centers in 10 countries, and sales offices all around the world. We are a global independent semiconductor company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of products, including discrete and standard commodity components, application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), full custom devices and application-specific standard products (ASSPs) for analog, digital and mixed-signal applications.

STMicroelectronics actively follows all initiatives and policies related to the following tools: Horizon Europe, ESRF, JTIs with a specific focus on Chips JU & SNS JU, Cyber Security and Digitizing Industry, European Space Policy and Programmes, Legislations (Chips Act 2.0, AI Act, Cyber resilience Act)
Communication Activities
Contribution to the Electronic Components and Systems (ECS) Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (ECS-SRIA) which was developed by the experts of the ECS community, coordinated by the three industry associations: AENEAS, EPoSS and INSIDE Member of ESIA (European Semiconductor Industry Association)
