Mission & Goals
Sustainable Finance Lab (SFL) is an independent academic think tank. Rooted in Utrecht University’s School of Economics, we bring together a diverse network of academics and professionals from multiple disciplines and institutions. We research, propose, and advocate for systemic changes. At the heart of SFL is an academic network of professors. Together with other researchers and associates they challenge and guide our work. Furthermore, SFL is an independent foundation whose board ensures its strategic direction and sound governance, while the core team coordinates research, outreach, and events. Together, we combine thought leadership, practical collaboration, and policy engagement to drive change in sustainable finance. We are active in Brussels as well, through our initiative FINEXUS.
