Mission & Goals
Saxion is a future-oriented university of applied sciences in the eastern Netherlands, with campuses in Apeldoorn, Deventer, and Enschede. Its mission centers on learning, thinking, and doing together, with Living Technology at its core—where technical innovation is aligned with people, society and the planet. Researchers, lecturers, and students at Saxion work on the smart world of tomorrow. Saxion focuses on five main areas: circular innovation and energy transition, health and technology, safety and digitalization, key enabling technologies, and social innovation methods. Entrepreneurship and regional engagement are key elements, with partnerships aimed at developing talent and increasing social impact. Education is practice-based, interdisciplinary, and encourages entrepreneurship. Students receive personal guidance in small groups, tailored to their development and ambitions. Research addresses regional and societal challenges in collaboration with businesses and organizations.
