Mission & Goals

The International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) is a non-profit foundation that works to improve health and care systems by promoting integrated care globally. IFIC conducts research, provides education and capacity building, leads EU-funded projects, and supports policy development to advance people-centred, coordinated care. The organisation collaborates with governments, international institutions, academic partners, civil society, and practitioners to strengthen integrated care design, implementation, and evaluation.

EU Legislative Interests

IFIC’s activities relate to the implementation of EU policies and programmes in the areas of public health, social services, and research and innovation. This includes: – EU4Health Programme, particularly actions supporting integrated care, health systems strengthening, workforce development, and community-based care models. – Horizon Europe research and innovation policy, especially under Cluster 1 (Health) and Cluster 2 (Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society). – European Digital Strategy as it relates to digital health, interoperability, and integrated care pathways. – EU policies on education and training through participation in capacity-building, professional development, and knowledge-exchange actions. IFIC does not target specific legislative proposals; its activities support implementation, evidence generation, and expert contributions to EU policy processes.

Communication Activities

IFIC communicates its work through scientific publications, policy briefs, webinars, conferences (including the International Conference on Integrated Care), project dissemination activities, and contributions to EU-funded project communication. These activities share evidence, good practices, and recommendations on integrated care, health and care systems strengthening, and person-centred approaches. IFIC also participates in consultations, expert meetings, and stakeholder workshops organised by the European Commission or EU agencies when invited to provide technical expertise. IFIC does not run advocacy campaigns or public lobbying activities targeting specific legislative proposals.
