Mission & Goals

ALLAI is a leading independent organization focused on advancing trustworthy AI. Founded by the 3 Dutch members of the EU High Level Expert Group on AI. Combining technical, ethical, legal and policy expertise around AI, ALLAI offers a unique blend of AI knowledge and insights. ALLAI provides in-depth policy advisory, practical application of theoretical insights, the design of tools and methodologies for AI Act implementation, AI skills development and education, and coordination and support activities for the AI Office and the EU AI Ecosystem. Notably, ALLAI has been advising the AI Act’s policy makers at EU and national levels on the AI Act, its accompanying guidelines and the GPAI Code of Practice and is involved in the development of the AI Act standards by CEN-CENELEC. ALLAI has been advisor and formal observer to the Council of Europe’s CAHAI, CAI and CDNET (current). ALLAI has a vast track record of leading the work on trustworthy AI in multiple Horizon Europe projects.

Responsible for mapping and analysing the EU regulatory landschape of AI. - Vascul-AID: EU funded project aimed at building an AI driven early detection mechanism for aneurisms. Responsible for legal and ethical alignment of the AI-tools. - DEO4PA: EU funded project that developed a curriculum and course for the new role of Digital Ethics Officer at Public Administrations. - AIA in-depth roundtable series for German policy makers in collaboration with the Weizenbaum-Institut. - Dutch Tax Authorities: Responsible AI Awareness Program, containing masterclasses and expert sessions for all relevant departments. - Dutch Association of Insurers: Translation of the Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI into the sector-wide binding “AI Ethical Charter for Insurers”. - ALLAI Academy, first EU wide academy offering multidisciplinary AI literacy courses
