Mission & Goals
Association of International Research-based Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers (SIFFA) is an open voluntary public organisation. The goal of SIFFA is to promote the operations of pharmaceutical companies in Latvia, to improve the healthcare quality, to increase the level of education and expertise of physicians, chemists and general public, as well as to promote and support the organised pharmaceutical market development in cooperation with governmental authorities. SIFFA was founded in January 1996 and initially united five representatives of foreign pharmaceutical firms operating in Latvia (Glaxo Welcome, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Boehringer Ingelheim, Schering and Eli Lilly). At present, SIFFA unites 20 members, representing: AbbVie, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Bayer, Berlin–Chemie/Menarini, Boeringer Ingelheim, Biogen, Eli Lilly, Gedeon Richter, Ipsen, Johnson & Johnson, Merck Serono, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Sanofi, Santen, Servier International, Takeda.
