Mission & Goals
Stadtwerke Köln Group (SWK) offers the 1,1 million citizens of Cologne and citizens in the surrounding region a decisive contribution to services of general interest as energy and water supply, public mobility, waste management and waste disposal, goods transport, telecommunications as well as sports and leisure. In the interest of the common good the SWK-Group provides these services in a sustainable and environment friendly manner to enhance the quality of life of the people and to ensure a functioning community. Furthermore the public enterprise, fully owned by the city of Cologne, creates attractive framework conditions for the economy and the citizens of the city and the surrounding region. We and our group companies invest large sums of money in order to address the challenges of the future. RheinEnergie is constructing a river-water heat pump with a thermal output of 150 megawatts and which is set to supply 50,000 households with heat starting in 2027.
