Mission & Goals
Specialised Nutrition Europe (SNE) is the association representing the specialised nutrition industry in Europe. We unite and represent the specialised nutrition industry across Europe to contribute to positive framework conditions for our products for people with specific nutritional needs, including infants and young children, patients under medical supervision, sportspeople, overweight and obese consumers, and people suffering from coeliac disease. .
EU Legislative Interests
Regulation (EU) 609/2013 on Foods for Specific Groups and its delegated regulations; General EU food legislation (food information, nutrition and health claims, food hygiene, food improvement agents, food safety); Food and nutrition policies (and claims), including malnutrition, obesity and physical activity; Risk assessment; regulation on packaging and packaging waste; expected proposal on front of pack nutrition labelling; Food Additives and Food Fortification; EU Cardiovascular and Cancer Plans
Communication Activities
Recent communication activities include position papers on the Packaging Regulation, on Date Marking and on front of pack nutrition labelling, communication on Young-Child Formula, Foods for Special Medical Purposes, Gluten-Free Foods, as well as some communication related to non-EU institutions (Codex Alimentarius; World Health Organisation). Detailed information is available on our website: https://www.specialisednutritioneurope.eu/ In addition, SNE develops educational materials, such as guidelines, aimed primarily at its members but made available via its website and social media to all interested parties. We are also active on Linkedin. During the European Week of Sport 2025, we hosted an event near the European Parliament in Brussels, with MEPs, Commission officials, a scientist and sportspeople. In 2026, we plan to host or co-host several policy events.

Organisation Members
