Mission & Goals
SOS Humanity e.V. is a non-governmental humanitarian and human rights organisation conducting search and rescue in the central Mediterranean. Founded in Berlin in 2015 under the name SOS Mediterranee Deutschland it has operated the rescue ships Aquarius (from 2016) and Ocean Viking (from 2019-2022) together with the European network SOS Mediterranee. Since 2022, as SOS Humanity, it operates the rescue ship Humanity 1.
