Mission & Goals

SoftwareONE, as a trusted contractor, aims to actively participate in conversations on technological and digital policy within the European Institutions. Our goal is to support EUIs in navigating complex regulations and frameworks shaping the digital landscape. We bring expertise in technology acquisition, licensing, and compliance aligned with EU sovereignty priorities. By engaging in these dialogues, we ensure transparency, regulatory alignment, and value for the institutions. We facilitate access to innovative technologies through a broad ecosystem of global and European partners. Our role is to bridge policy objectives with practical, cost-efficient technology solutions. Ultimately, we contribute to strengthening digital resilience and innovation across all EU institutions.

EU Legislative Interests

SoftwareONE actively monitors and engages with EU legislative proposals and policies that shape the digital agenda, including the EU AI Act, the Data Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, NIS2, and the Digital Services Act. Our interest lies in supporting EU Institutions in interpreting these frameworks and translating them into practical strategies for technology adoption. We aim to align technology acquisition and innovation with key EU policy objectives such as digital sovereignty, cybersecurity, interoperability, and responsible AI. The EU AI Act, for example, requires institutions to evaluate AI systems by risk category, an area where we bring expertise to ensure compliance while enabling innovation. Similarly, the Data Act and Data Governance Act introduce obligations for data sharing and portability, where we help institutions integrate compliant solutions. By contributing to conversations on policies such as the Digital Europe Programme and the European Cybersecurity Certification Framework (EUCS), we bridge regulatory ambition with technological execution. Our role is to ensure that EU institutions can embrace innovation confidently, with full respect of regulatory requirements and long-term digital resilience.

Communication Activities

SoftwareONE Belgium, as holder of the SIDE III Framework Contract (DI/08030) for all EU institutions, follows closely legislative proposals shaping Europe’s digital future such as the EU AI Act, Data Act, Cyber Resilience Act, NIS2, and Digital Services Act. Our interest is to translate these policies into actionable strategies for technology acquisition, compliance, and innovation. We participate in EU Commission and Parliament consultations, policy roundtables, industry hearings, and public stakeholder workshops to contribute our expertise. We also attend high-level forums such as DIGITEC, EU Digital Assembly, Cybersecurity Conference, AI Alliance events, and sector-specific Parliament hearings to stay aligned with regulatory evolution. Through SIDE III, we ensure that technology solutions adopted by EU Institutions meet policy goals on sovereignty, interoperability, and secure digital transformation. Our outreach includes direct dialogue with policymakers, collaboration with trade associations (e.g. ECSO, DigitalEurope), and joint events with technology partners. This positioning allows SoftwareONE to act as a bridge between regulatory ambition and practical, cost-efficient technology implementation for the EU.
