EU Legislative Interests

Societe Generale proactively engages with all relevant stakeholders in the EU institutional process by providing technical expertise on banking and finance. As such, the Group regularly contributes to the consultations issued by various European bodies. In 2025, we contributed to discussions relating to simplification, EU banks competitiveness and SIU roadmap. Our main areas of focus included: the completion of the Banking Union & prudential regulation (Banking Package and CMDI negotiations); the financial markets regulation (MIFIR, EMIR 3.0, RIS, shortening settlement cycle under CSDR); digital issues (DLT-based finance, cybersecurity, data act, FIDA, digital euro and CBDC) and green/sustainable finance.
