Mission & Goals
SMARTENERGY Group AG is a Swiss-based investment firm dedicated to renewable energy. We identify, develop and deliver green energy assets. We are a driving force in the industry's ongoing transition towards green energy, focusing on deploying solar, wind and green hydrogen (H2) projects. We are committed to pursuing the potential of H2 and related technology as an ideal complement for utilising and storing renewable energy. Smartenergy Group has over 200 employees across its vertical operative entities and a track record of over 7GW of built renewable capacity globally, plus over 14GW of renewables and H2 projects in the pipeline. The company was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Wollerau, Switzerland. Beyond our team in Wollerau, we rely on our local subsidiaries in EU countries and the UAE. Local knowledge and proximity to the industry stakeholders allow us to identify and secure opportunities at an early stage while creating synergies across the entire value chain.
EU Legislative Interests
As a firm dedicated to the deployment of green assets, Smartenergy is interested in the policy developments related to renewable energy and hydrogen. Our main aim is to be up to date on the policy developments that will create framework conditions and drive deployment of renewables and green hydrogen. Thus, legislative proposals of utmost importance to us are: Renewable Energy Directive (RED), European Trading System (EU ETS), Hydrogen and Decarbonised Gas Package, ReFuel EU Aviation, Hydrogen Bank, and Innovation Fund.
Communication Activities
Smartenergy has sponsored and contributes with speakers in several relevant events in the renewable energy and hydrogen sector, such as the World Hydrogen Congress, World Hydrogen Summit and the European Hydrogen Week.
