Mission & Goals

In response to the growing challenges of illicit trade and supply chain security, the Smart Container Alliance has been created to drive the adoption of cutting-edge IoT technologies in the transport of containers from sensitive areas. This ground-breaking initiative unites industry leaders in a joint effort to improve cargo traceability, strengthen maritime trade and assist global enforcement agencies in the fight against criminal networks.

EU Legislative Interests

- Involved in the legislative proposal establishing the Union Customs Code and the European Union Customs Authority, and repealing Regulation (EU) No 952/2013 - Monitoring the implementation of the European Ports Alliance - Monitoring strategies for combating drugs within the pursued policies.

The Smart Container Alliance was created in mid-February 2025, and is therefore debuting its first financial year. It has not yet closed its account for a full financial year. It will close its account in december 2025.
