Mission & Goals
SINTEF is a broad, multidisciplinary research organisation with international top-level expertise in the fields of technology, the natural sciences, medicine, and the social sciences. SINTEF conducts contract R&D as a partner for private and public sectors, and is one of the largest contract research institutions in Europe. SINTEF is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. None of its owners receive any form of dividend. Profits are invested in scientific equipment, skills, and expertise. SINTEF is certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards. SINTEF is organised as an enterprise group consisting of seven research institutes. Communication Activities
SINTEF endeavours to attend, within a reasonable extent, all relevant EU events and hearings. In addition, SINTEF representatives are regularly invited to speak at policy events organised by the European Parliament, Commission workshops, as well as other stakeholder fora in Brussels. SINTEF also organise its own events, such as round tables, seminars and workshops. In particular, and as part of deliverables in the RTD programmes, SINTEF organise stakeholder events where programme results are assessed and discussed.
