Mission & Goals

At Signum Global we produce predictive research on political developments. We also host events with policy-makers in the US, Mexico, Dubai, the EU and the UK to better understand geopolitical developments. We are research and insight providers. Signum Global does not represent its clients to EU institutions, nor does it act as an intermediary for clients seeking to affect EU policy, legislation nor the implementation of legislation. Signum therefore represents its own interests as an advisor and researcher.

EU Legislative Interests

We are interested in the key areas of EU policy-making that relate to current affairs and set the geopolitical agenda of the day. Specifically in regards of competition and industrial policy, we are interested in the Industrial Accelerator Act and the Omnibus laws, among others, and also what these policies mean for the EU's relationships with the US and China. Relatedly, we are keen to understand better the EU's de-risking agenda towards China and how critical raw materials dependencies will relate to that. The political, economic and financial implications of the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism are of interest, as well as potential outcomes from the Letta and Draghi reports into the single market and EU competitiveness, respectively (particularly around any progress on a capital markets union). Beyond these policies, we seek to understand how the war in Ukraine, shifts in trade data with China and the change in EU-US relations under Trump could alter political priorities in the EU and what it means for the bloc's 'strategic autonomy' and defence industry.

Communication Activities

We are planning to visit policy makers involved in the activities described above to hear first-hand from them to better understand these policies, their geopolitical implications as well as their impact on the business and operating environment.
