Mission & Goals

Sibelga is the unique distribution network operator (DSO) for electricity and natural gas in the 19 municipalities of the Brussels capital region in Belgium with about one million clients. Our core business is to provide and maintain an energy network infrastructure that supplies energy to households on the Brussels territory. Services linked to this activity stretch form pure infrastructural works (construction and maintenance of pipes and cable network) detection of system supply defaults (both gas and electricity), as well as connecting and metering, and the provision and maintenance of the public street lightening network. Apart from our core activities we are engaged in several innovative and social initiatives that aim to increase the sustainable use of energy in the city; such as the set-up of local energy communities and the greening of our business car parc (intention is to have our utility fleetcar parc of 400 cars fully run on electricity and CNG vehicles).
