Mission & Goals

Our Mission We transform conflicts so people can live free from violence and realize the benefits of durable peace. We are locally rooted and globally networked. Our unique value lies in the collective impact of our globally integrated team and partners, from those most directly affected by violent conflict in our communities to those with access and influence on the major powers that influence conflict dynamics. Our Vision We envision a world where conflict doesn’t mean violence, but rather is a source of progress. Our vision is a world where people live in healthy, safe and just societies, where cooperation across differences is a norm. Our vision is of a world where: Differences stimulate social progress, rather than precipitate violence. Respect for and cooperation with those we disagree with is considered the norm for individuals, communities, organizations, and nations.

Communication Activities

- policy papers linking our programming expertise around the globe with EU policy, for example around online polarisation and the Digital Services Act, around people-centred security and programming in conflict-affected countries, around the role of religious actors and youth in preventing violent extremism - op-eds e.g. on EU and peacebuilding, on freedom of religion and belief, on the international approach to the Sahel, on online polarisation and AI, on the link between climate and conflict etc. - inputs for policy work of networks, e.g. EPLO policy paper and advocacy on humanitarian-development-peace nexus - Events to share analysis of the situation in conflict-affected countries or regions, eg Sahel, Afghanistan etc. - input for official consultations of the European Commission and External Action Service - e.g. Pact for Mediterranean, MFF and the NDICI
