Mission & Goals
Ember is the trading name for the Community Interest Company Sandbag Climate Campaign CIC. Ember is an independent energy think-tank that aims to accelerate the clean energy transition with data and policy. Our objective is accelerate the clean energy transition using data & policy. We use our data and analysis to: Support high impact, politically viable policies that accelerate the power sector transition and reduction of coal mine methane . Empower other organisations, including media, civil society, and business. Shape the global narrative. From 2008-2020, as Sandbag we worked to reform the EU Emissions Trading System. Now we focus globally, and using our utilities and data expertise to accelerate the international transition to clean power.
