Our experience and work over the years with Governments, European Union and Humanitarian Aid Organizations has taught us the significance of our role in the supply chain. We commit to offer dignity and relief to those who need it the most. SALAS International Group S.A. is the company that has undertaken the EU’s humanitarian operational programs for Food and Basic Material Assistance Supplies, as developed and assigned by the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD). Our company has been commended by EU officials for the management of these programs and we have been characterised as the best EU company in the field of kitting and distribution of humanitarian assistance, since we operate always on time and efficiently with respect to the beneficiaries. Our company is a certified partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece. It is registered in the Special Registry of Organizations of the Z' General Directorate for Development and Humanitarian Aid of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece. 3 PILLARS OF OPERATION Providing advisory services, experience and know-how to States which want to upgrade their services so as to deal with a humanitarian crisis and to improve the way they offer humanitarian aid to the vulnerable groups. Specialization in preparation of food kits, hygiene kits, education kits and shelter kits for NGOs, international organisations (EU, UN, etc) or local governments. We tailor solutions that aim to relieve the weak social groups, based on their needs. Undertaking the entire management and consulting (from A to Z) to offer complete solutions for private and multinational companies, charity foundations, and of course individuals who desire to provide humanitarian aid.Salas group is contributing to the policy formulation of legal acts of the EU pertaining to public health and food and is implementing various campaigns and events as well as participating in EU interest conferences and congresses promoting those EU policies and advocating at EU, National, Regional, and at the level of Municipalities. We are interested in contributing to the policy formulation that is related to the Farm to Fork legislative initiatives. In this context, we intend to participate in the ongoing public consultations and submit our findings to DG SANTE. Among others, we are interested in the new rules regarding the micro-organisms used in plant protection products. Furthermore, the projects implemented under the EU FEAD- Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived provide special support to families that are evaluated, based on their standard of living, as vulnerable groups by the official bodies of the State (Municipalities, Regions, etc.) The aim is to ensure the availability of, access to, and consumption of food in the effort to alleviate the conditions of deprivation, through the regular distribution of food (& basic material assistance supplies) targeting specifically EU policies regarding Food Safety, Public Health, Employment, and social affairs, Food Security Policy. Most importantly we are aligned with the contingency plan for ensuring food supply and food security in times of crisis, in line with the relevant EU framework legislation for sustainable food systems, with the view to further accelerate the transition towards a sustainable food system. In addition, Environmental protection is of the utmost importance. We are committed to having a positive impact on people and the planet. We choose to use the most environmentally friendly packaging which is recyclable. All plastics we use are based on renewable or recycled materials that contribute to the Farm to fork EU policy as well the new Circular Economy action plan. In this context, we are interested in the follow-up of the circular economy policy. More specifically, the priorities and the new mandate of the EU Platform on Food Losses & Food Waste are for us of particular interest. We intend to intervene in order to shape future actions.
