Mission & Goals
RURENER is a network of rural communities committed to the social and ecological transitions. The goals of the organization are to facilitate the exchange of experiences and promote cooperatio among rural stakeholders, to stimulate innovation for rural transitions and to promote rural communities' actions at the European level by bringing local insights to E.U. policy-makers. Rural areas are often isolated but also very resilient and RURENER emphasizes the common challenges between these communities to reinforce their action potential. As network, RURENER connects rural communities that are seizing the opportunity of rural transitions to make a change and build resilience. Advocacy for rural communities is important at RURENER, to give them a chance to speak up and to unite their voices for a better recognition in Brussels. At the European level, RURENER embodies this dialogue between local initiatives and European policies so they can shape each other in the most effective way.
