Mission & Goals

Rural Youth Europe (RYE) is a European Non-Governmental Organisation for rural youth. Established in 1957, it functions as an umbrella for youth organisations working to promote and activate young people in the countryside. It provides international training opportunities and serves as an intermediary between national organisations, youth organisations, and public institutions at the European level. RYE is a member-led organisation: democratically constituted and led by young people for young people. We have extensive expertise in non-formal education, youth empowerment, capacity building, and communications (social media, podcast). Additionally, we focus on improving living conditions for rural young people, enhancing the prosperity of rural areas, and ensuring the inclusion of young people from rural areas in decision-making processes.
